Pillayan further remanded until September 15
Former State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, alias Pillayan, along with two Army intelligence informants, has been ordered to remain in remand

The directive was issued today by the Acting Magistrate of Batticaloa Magistrate's Court via Zoom technology. Pillayan and informants Mohamed Sifan and Mohamed Sakeed were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in November 2025 under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. During today's hearing, Pillayan, Sifan, and Sakeed were produced from prison via Zoom.
