Jordan have been eliminated from the 2026 World Cup after Algeria came from behind to win 2-1 and set up a showdown with Austria for second place in Group J.
Algeria fought back from a goal down to eliminate tournament debutants Jordan from the World Cup with a 2-1 victory at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium. The equaliser eventually arrived in the 69th minute when Benbouali glanced a downward header into the corner of the net from a Riyad Mahrez corner. The late goal denied Jordan their first ever World Cup point and sealed the three points for Algeria.-BBC
