According to the Bribery Commission, the suspects were arrested based on a complaint filed by a businessman from Bandarawela. However, the officer and his driver had allegedly requested a bribe of Rs. On information from the businessman, Bribery officials arrested the officer and his driver at the businessman's residence at around 1.30 pm yesterday.
