The overall rate of inflation, as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) on a year-on-year basis, stood at -0.6% in June 2025, a marginal increase from -0.7% in May, according to the Department of Census and Statistics. Food inflation dropped to 4.3% in June from 5.2% in May, while non-food inflation recorded a further decline, reaching -2.8%, compared to -3.3% the previous month.
