RMV Chief remanded in fraud case
Kamal Amarasinghe, Commissioner General of Motor Traffic, was remanded until April 10 by a Kurunegala court. He was arrested for aiding fraudulent vehicle registration and is under investigation for altering a cab's chassis number.

Commissioner General of Motor Traffic, Kamal Amarasinghe, has been remanded until April 10. The order was issued when he was produced before Pelessa Magistrate W. Amarasinghe was arrested in Melsiripura on March 27 by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) over allegations of conspiring to fraudulently assemble a motor vehicle and aiding and abetting the offence.
