The Accident and Emergency Department, Outpatient Department, Radiology Department, operating theatres and several hospital wards were among the areas inundated by floodwaters. Several lifts in the Accident and Emergency Department were also reported to have become inoperative due to the flooding. Flooding on several roads due to the heavy rainfall also severely disrupted traffic along several main roads in Colombo.
