- The India national cricket team defeated the New Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 final played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India.With the victory, India also created history by becoming the first team to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in back-to-back editions.New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and elected to field first in the highly anticipated final.Batting first, India delivered a commanding batting performance, posting 255 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Sanju Samson top-scored with a blistering 89 off 46 balls, striking five fours and eight sixes. Abhishek Sharma provided a rapid start with 52 runs off just 21 deliveries, while Ishan Kishan added a quickfire 54 from 25 balls.India raced to 92 without loss in the powerplay and maintained the momentum throughout the innings. A strong partnership between Samson and Kishan propelled the total beyond 200 before the 15th over.
