Sri Lanka postpones TIN certificate deadline
The mandatory submission of Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) certificates for eight specified transactions has been delayed until April 1, 2027. The move follows a surge in demand and was approved by the Ministry of Finance to ease pressure on taxpayers and administrative systems.

The requirement was originally scheduled to come into effect on 01 Nov., 2026. The mandatory submission requirement was introduced in accordance with Section 103(6) of the Inland Revenue Act, No. SEC/PN/IT/2026/05 dated 22 September 2026.
