Senior Superintendent of Police Roshan Amarasinghe has been appointed as the Acting Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The appointment has been made on a special duty basis. SSP Roshan Amarasinghe is currently serving as the Director of the Terrorism Investigation Division.
The National Police Commission has appointed Shani Abeysekara as the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Meanwhile, SSP Roshan Amarasinghe has been appointed Director of the CID on the instructions of the Inspector General of Police, considering service requirements, the Police Media Division said.
