Sri Lanka Police have launched an investigation after a stock of live ammunition was discovered near a public well under construction in Horape, Ragama. The find was made following a tip-off from the Horape Community Police Committee, authorities confirmed.According to police, the cache includes several rounds compatible with LMG (Light Machine Gun) and T-56 assault riflesRagama Police have commenced a full-scale probe into the incident.
Ragama Police stated that members of a Village Development Society in the Horape area of Ragama have discovered a cache of live ammunition while carrying out renovation work on a well in a reservoir located in the area. Police mentioned that the live ammunition was found by the society members while they were constructing the drainage system for the renovation of the tank well.
