- Five police teams have launched investigations into the shooting of a couple in Kapuhena, Unakuruwa, Tangalle.The victims, aged 68 and 59, were identified as relatives of Unakuruwe Shantha.Police say they were shot at around 6:50 pm yesterday, while at their shop, by motorcycle gunmen.According to police, the suspects who fled the scene, had abandoned their motorcycle in Seenimodara. Police confirmed that a pistol was used in the attack.
Police are continuing their investigations into the fatal shooting of a couple at their shop in Unakuruwa, Tangalle. The deceased are a 68-year-old man and his 58-year-old wife, identified by police as the uncle and aunt of Unakuruwe Shantha. This latest shooting brings the total number of gun-related incidents committed by organised criminals this year to 105.
