Technical Committee on Rules of Origin appointed to strengthen trade facilitation framework

Sri Lanka Customs has inaugurated a Technical Committee on Rules of Origin (TCRO) in a bid to modernize the country s trade governance and improve transparency in the administration of Rules of Origin, according to an official statement issued today.

Sri Lanka has taken a major step to modernise its trade governance by formally establishing the Technical Committee on Rules of Origin (TCRO). The Committee was inaugurated on December 10, 2025, through a collaboration between Sri Lanka Customs and the Department of Commerce.
