President Anura Kumara Disanayaka has directed the government to provide a financial contribution of US$ 1 million to Nepal to support its ongoing humanitarian and relief efforts, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism said.
Expressing his condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Sri Lanka, the President conveyed his deepest sympathies to the Government and people of Nepal, as well as to the families who lost their loved ones in the disaster. Recalling the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Nepal, President Dissanayake emphasized that Sri Lanka stands firmly with the Nepalese people during this difficult time.
