The Government of Japan and the citizens of Yokohama City have jointly donated seven low-floor buses to Sri Lanka, further strengthening the longstanding development cooperation between the two countries and supporting the advancement of the country's public transport sector.
The seven buses will be deployed to the Metro Bus Service, which was introduced to improve the efficiency of urban public transport. Meanwhile, Lanka Metro Transit (Pvt.) Ltd. plans to introduce another 104 buses before the end of September, increasing the total fleet to 121 buses.
