Rear Admiral Ravindra Thisera was appointed as the new Chief of Staff of the Navy. Peter's College, Colombo, Rear Admiral Thisera joined the Sri Lanka Navy in 1992 through the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University. He held many key positions during his tenure, including Commanding Officer of Fast Attack Craft, Commander of the Eastern Naval Area, and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy.
