The Department of Meteorology has issued an 'Amber' advisory for strong winds and rough seas for sea areas extending from Kalpitiya to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota. The advisory further warns naval and fishing communities not to venture into the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Kalpitiya via Mannar.
