CID tells court of large-scale scam using fake app made to look like SriLankan Airlines app
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has told the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court that a large-scale racket defrauded the public
Summary
250 to register on it, the CID said. After registration, the fraudsters stole the data that customers entered into the app and used it to get into their bank accounts, the CID said. It told court that victims did not know their bank account numbers and other confidential data had been obtained by the fraudsters.
