A pistol which was in possession of former MP Uditha Lokubandara during the joint opposition rally at Nugegoda on 21 November has been taken into police custody.
Udith Lokubandara, a former private secretary to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. However, investigations have revealed that he had not obtained the annual license for it even at the time of his participation in the Nugegoda rally. A senior police official stated that legal action against the suspect is expected to be taken in the future, based on the findings of these investigations.
