The Ministry of Health states that the reporting of dengue patients is rising rapidly.The highest number of dengue cases is reported from the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces.By now, the total number of dengue patients reported across the island stands at 33,864.Nineteen dengue patients have died during this period.Accordingly, the National Dengue Control Unit of the Ministry of Health states that special dengue control programs will be implemented on the upcoming 8th, 9th, and 10th.Its Community Consultant Physician, Dr. Prashila Samaraweera, noted that the public is requested to clean their premises during those days.These programs are scheduled to be implemented in 74 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions.
