Former Mrs. World Caroline Jurie and late model Chula Padmendra were acquitted today in the court case filed against them.
The verdict was announced by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama.
The case was filed against Caroline Jurie and Chula Padmendra over removing the crown from the head of Pushpika De Silva, the winner of the Mrs. Sri Lanka 2021 pageant, and injuring her during the event.
Delivering the verdict, the Chief Magistrate stated that the prosecution had failed to prove the charges against the defendants beyond reasonable doubt.
The deceased fashion designer Chula Padmendra was represented in court by her guarantor in relation to the incident.
