A suspect has been arrested for the possession of a T-56 assault rifle, two magazines, and 45 rounds of ammunition by officers of the Ampara Division Criminal Investigation Unit.
Police have seized a T-56 firearm, along with two magazines and 45 rounds of ammunition, that was concealed in the Elpitiya area. Police said the items were recovered during an operation carried out following a tip-off received by the Senior DIG in charge of the Eastern Province. The operation was conducted by officers of the Ampara Divisional Criminal Investigation Unit.
