55 Foreign Nationals Arrested Over Illegal Ops

Fifty-five foreign nationals suspected of engaging in illegal activities, including unlawful financial operations, were arrested while staying at a hotel in the Dodanduwa area of Hikkaduwa.The raid was carried out by officers from the Police Special Task Force (STF) Akmeemana Camp, acting on intelligence received from the Sri Lanka Army.Among those arrested are 35 Indian nationals and 20 Nepalese nationals. Authorities also apprehended the owner of the hotel that had provided accommodation to the suspects.During the operation, officials seized a range of items in the possession of the suspects, including 25 laptop computers, four routers, 202 mobile phones, a motor car, a jeep, and cash amounting to Rs. 750,000.Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
