The National Building Research Organization says that air quality has deteriorated once again today across several parts of the island.NBRO said that wind patterns combined with pollution levels from South Asian countries have contributed to the current conditions.This morning, the highest air pollution was recorded in Chilaw, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 167, well above the safe level of below 50.Other areas with elevated pollution levels include:Battaramulla: AQI 160Galle: AQI 154Jaffna: AQI 102Kegalle: AQI 116Ratnapura: AQI 138Ella: AQI 138Akkaraipattu: AQI 131The National Building Research Organization has advised sensitive individuals and those with health conditions to take necessary precautions due to the high pollution levels.
