The Department of Meteorology has confirmed that there is no tsunami threat to Sri Lanka following a 6.3 magnitude earthquake near Indonesia's Sumatra island, close to Aceh province, earlier today (27 November). Sri Lanka's National Tsunami Early Warning Center issued an official notification declaring all coastal areas safe."There is no tsunami threat to Sri Lanka at present with the effect of the above earthquake.
