Addressing the weekly Cabinet media briefing held at the Department of Government Information, Minister Jayatissa said a total of 163,869 individuals from 50,176 families have been affected by the ongoing dry spell. Of the affected population, 43,586 families are currently experiencing water shortages as well, the Minister said.
