Chairman of the Coconut Cultivation Board, Dr Sunimal Jayakody, stated that the initiative is intended to encourage coconut growers, rehabilitate land, and boost crop yields. In addition, the board will provide Rs.200 per coconut tree to support water conservation initiatives on plantations. Farmers can also access financial assistance through the Kapruka Loan Scheme operated by the Coconut Cultivation Board.
