Russian flag carrier Aeroflot will resume flight operations between Moscow and Colombo on October 3, 2026 with two scheduled for a week initially, according to Ambassador Levan Dzhagaryan.
Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Levan Dzhagaryan, states that they expect to further increase the number of these flights in the future. The resumption of these flights will greatly benefit Russian tourists hoping to visit Sri Lanka, as well as the local tourism sector. These flights were temporarily suspended from May 17, based on a decrease in tourist arrivals.
