Earlier today, reports stated that the flight was forced to make an emergency landing at the Katunayake Airport after it experienced a lightning strike on one of its engines shortly after departure. Issuing a statement, the airline confirmed that the aircraft landed safely with 207 passengers and 16 crew members on board, soon after the incident.
