Police investigations have revealed that another vehicle with the exact same registration number as the car in question is owned by an individual in the Ratnapura area. Although the number plates are identical, the vehicle found on the expressway is maroon in color, while the vehicle in Ratnapura is white. A photocopy of an identity card belonging to an individual from the Pothuhera area was also found in the diary.
