NBRO introduces priority-based compensation system

The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has introduced a special mechanism to provide compensation for buildings damaged by Cyclone Ditwah.Under this system, affected sites are classified into three main categories: High Risk, Medium Risk, and Low Risk. The NBRO further notes that properties within the High-Risk category have been subdivided into Priority 1, 2, and 3 levels, which will dictate the order of compensation payments. While all residents in High-Risk zones will eventually be relocated, officials state this prioritization ensures the efficient allocation of government funds.Individuals can verify their assigned priority level through their respective Divisional Secretariats. The NBRO clarified that although inspections and reports may be completed simultaneously for an area, compensation will be disbursed strictly based on the priority order. Consequently, even if a neighbor receives financial assistance, another affected individual may not receive funds during the initial phase.
