The water level, which was previously at 8.50 feet, dropped to 8.45 feet by 2:00 PM today (1), and has now further dropped to 8.40 feet, confirming that the flood is subsiding. The minor flood situation in the Hanwella area of the Kelani River is also reportedly continuing to recede. The high flood level in the Malwathu Oya at Tantirimale is also subsiding, with the current water level at approximately 9.43 meters.
