Sufficient Fuel Stocks Available: CPC Assures

- The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has announced that 1,332,311 liters of diesel and 2,019,600 liters of Octane 92 petrol have been distributed across the island ensuring adequate fuel stocks in the country for consumption. CPC Chairman D.A. Rajakaruna says that the country currently holds sufficient stocks to last for 37 days of petrol and 35 days of diesel consumption.Accordingly, Minister of Energy Kumara Jayakody has urged the public to refrain from panic buying or unnecessary hoarding, as there is no fuel shortage in the country.The Minister confirmed that fuel distribution from regional depots and distribution centers will continue as usual today.Additonally, it has been strictly prohibited to issue fuel into barrels, jerry cans, or bottles.
