Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena today issued warrants for the arrest of former cricketer Aravinda de Silva and his wife, Priyanga Anushka Wijenayake.
De Silva was unable to attend court due to his mother's funeral. A lawyer familiar with the matter told Newswire that De Silva, who is not a suspect in the case, can appear before the court and request that the warrant be recalled. The warrant relates to De Silva's absence from court in his capacity as a surety and does not indicate that he is a suspect in the Airbus investigation.
