Suresh Salley case: Hearing on Aug 4
The Court of Appeal today fixed August 4 for the consideration of the intervening petitions filed seeking permission to intervene and present facts regarding the petition filed by former State Intelligence Service Director Suresh Salley against his arrest and detention by the Criminal Investigation Department.These intervening petitions have been filed by eight parties, including Venerable Bengamuwe Nalaka Thero and His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith.When the petitions were taken up, Court of Appeal President Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya stated that the requests of the intervening petitioners would be considered after the conclusion of the submissions made by President's Counsel Sanjeewa Jayawardena, who represents the petitioner.Accordingly, with the consent of the lawyers for the intervening petitioners, the Court of Appeal bench fixed August 4 and 6 for the consideration of said petitions.
